Khmer Counseling Psychology Services in cooperated with Indigo Cambodia is a psychological services centre in Phnom Penh with both international and national professionals. We provide individual assessment and counselling, as well as providing training and support to NGOs, schools and other organisations. We are currently offering the following training programs;

 Positive Parenting Course  
Helping you to understand and manage your child’s behavior and taking care of them in the positive way

What is it?  The parenting course is programme for parents of children aged 2-11 years that promotes positive parenting through teaching effective discipline strategies and building the parent child bond.  The programme is adapted from evidence based knowledge and techniques fromTimid to Tiger” and “The Incredible Years– programmes that have been demonstrated in clinical trials to reduce anxiety and problem behaviours in young children and increase parenting efficacy

Who should attend?  Parents and care taker of children who want to learn more about how to raise confident capable children and learn how to be more effective in their parenting.  We encourage couples to attend together and will charge per family rather than per person. The course will offer maximum limit up to 20 participants only

Course Objectives:

  • Helping you to build up good relationship within parents and children with special play.
  •  Helping you to understand and manage your child’s behaviour effectively and reduce anxiety.
  •  Helping you to help your kids to become obedience children in the family through changing their behaviour.
  •  Helping you to learn how to react positively to your children in order to help them change to a positive way and to increase parent efficacy. 

 Course Outlines: 

 Overview of child development in general perspective
  • Building good relationship with children.
  • How to play with Kid and special play.
  •   How to give praise and reward to children.
  • Limit setting on the negative behaviour.
  • Ignoring when some negative behaviour happen again and again.
  • Putting consequence properly and effectively to make change.

 
Training Methodology  

A combination of didactic teaching with discussion groups relating the principles to participants’ own work.

 How much does it cost?

  • Early Bird Fee - Before 15th March 2013: USD60 for individual and USD90 for couples register. 20% off for group register at least 5 persons.
  • Normal Fee    - After 15th March 2013: USD79 for individual and USD 120 for couples register. 20% off for group register at least 5 persons.

Understand the source of psychobiological stress at work and preventive strategies

  • To understand the work source as the stimulation and health or cause of distress.
  • To understand how the body and mind respond to stress 
  • To understand stress related health problems
  • To gain knowledge and practical skills in using stress management and health promotion within your workplace
  • To gain knowledge and understand preventive strategies and the way to reduce stress effectively.

A combination of didactic teaching with discussion groups relating the principles to participants’ own work and testing and assessment to the level of stress.

Who should attend the course? Full time or part time employees of NGOs, INGOs or private companies who would like to manage their stress effectively and those who are interest in occupational health and coping strategies due to stress at working place and personal issues. The course will offer maximum limit up to 20 participants only

Who will be the trainer?  Hoeur Sethul, Philippines trained Cambodian psychologist with M.A in Counseling, B.A in Psychology and B.A in English literature.  He is a qualified psychologist, Psychotherapist and researcher currently working as an independent consultant running consultation services, counseling/psychotherapy, training and assessment through Indigo Psychological Services in Phnom Penh. He have specialized training in psychological health, psychotherapy and research, specifically in trauma as well as guidance and career counseling. He has also worked with numbers of INGOs and NGOs in Cambodia in managerial positions. In addition to this, He also possesses professional skills in counseling/psychotherapy for trauma patients, torture and other human rights violation victims and also for individuals experiencing psychological problem.  At present, He is practicing CBT, REBT and Reality Therapy as part of his counseling techniques and philosophies.
